Shear wrenches are mainlly used to fasten the TC (Torque Control) bolts which are more convenient and safe to use. The applications of Shear Wrenches are at:

• Erection of Power Plant Structure
• Steel Bridge Construction
• Mining Construction

Picture 1 Shows the normal shape of the TC (Torque Control) Bolt which hAs splined part extended at the end.

Picture 2 Shows Shear wrench special socket is applied at the nut of TC Bolt. The internal socket grips the splined part, while external socket grips and rotates the nut to tihgten the Bolt

Picture 3 After the torque tightening is achieved the extended splined part of the bolt is sheared off from the bolt and the joints is successfully tightened to the required torque.
